GREAT FALLS, Mont., November 16, 2016 — The Great Falls Americans sit in third place in the Frontier Division and although that would be good enough for some teams. The Americans know they have ground to make up. The team hasn’t played a game since November 5th which head coach Jeff Heimel said gives them the chance to rest and get healthy. But if the Americans want to improve on their season they’ll need to capitalize Friday against the last place team in the division, the Glacier Nationals.
“I think we’re growing week to week but we’re certainly not thrilled with our standing position right now. At the same time we have a winning record and are a playoff hockey team at the moment which is exciting,” Heimel said.
Defenseman Danny O’Donnell added “it’s been a nice break. We play every week so getting a weekend off is good. The boys are getting excited to play again so it’s going to be a good weekend coming up.”
