GREAT FALLS – Dylan Garton’s goal at the end of the second period was the only tally of the game as the Great Falls Americans took a 1-0 win over the Helena Bighorns in NA3HL Frontier Division action at the IcePlex.
Garton’s goal came with just .9 seconds left in the period, off assists from Adam Apangalook and Robert Kalata.
“It’s a good win. We’ve been looking forward to this game for several weeks,” Americans coach Jeff Heimel said.
Evan Hauser kept a clean sheet in goal for Great Falls (11-0), stopping all 43 Bighorn shots. Grant Martens saved all but one of the 31 shots he faced as the Bighorns (6-1) lose their first game of the year,
The Americans play just once next week, when they entertain the Bozeman IceDogs next Saturday night at the IcePlex.
