HELENA – The Great Falls Americans lost a 2-0 decision to the Helena Bighorns on Saturday night here.
Great Falls, which played a home-and-home series with Helena this weekend, defeated the Bighorns 3-1 Friday night at the IcePlex.
The Americans, 25-5 on the season and first in the Frontier Division with 50 points, fired the puck 32 times at Bighorn net minder Grant Martens on Saturday but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Brandt Miller of the Bighorns (20-7-1) scored the game’s only goals, the first seven minutes into the second period and the second with one minute left in the game.
The Americans of head coach Jeff Heimel are back in action Saturday against the Billings Bulls, a home game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
