Joshua Larson’s short-handed goal with 37 seconds left in the game gave the Glacier Nationals the boost they needed as the Havre-based club defeated the Great Falls Americans 2-1 in a NA3HL Frontier Division match before 510 fans at the IcePlex.

The Nationals tallied both of their goals in the third. Larson’s game winner was unassisted, while Tommy Kadditz found the net to tie the match six minutes into the period. Both goals came off Lauren Massie, who only faced 19 shots.

Malachi Bushey scored the only Great Falls goal with less than three minutes left in the first stanza off assists from Massie and Marvin Simmons. It was the only thing that kept Glacier goalie Ryan Lund from having a clean sheet as they won only their second match of the year (2-12-3, 7 pts.).

The Americans, suffering just their second setback (15-2-0, 30 pts.), remain atop the Frontier Division standings as they travel to Helena Sunday at 3:05.
