Brian Sears

Brian returns for his seventh year (2024-25) as the Americans head scout. Brian has over 30 years of experience in hockey ranging from youth to juniors. Along with working for the Americans, Brian is a Building and Grounds Administrator, and Municipal Judge for the village of Webster. He currently resides in Webster, Wisconsin.

Minnesota Scout

Jeff Weber

Jeff returns for his seventh year (2024-25) as the Americans Minnesota scout. Jeff is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin and attended Eau Claire North High School.  Jeff attended St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Currently, he is the Assistant Hockey Coach for th Shakopee High School in Shakopee, Minnesota and he resides in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Wisconsin Scout

 

 

Emily Bauer

 

Emily Bauer is in her fourth year (2024-25) as a scout for the Great Falls Americans. She is from Wausau, Wisconsin and currently lives in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Emily played four years of NCAA DIII hockey for UW-Eau Claire (UWEC). She is currently working  in the  Sports Information Department for both UWEC men’s and women’s programs and is also a public relations intern for the Chippewa Steel of the NAHL.

Southwest Minnesota Scout

Matt Penner

Matt joins the Americans for his fifth season (2024-25) as a Scout. Matt is from Morehead, Minnesota and is currently a teacher and an Assistant Hockey Coach for Hutchison High School in southern Minnesota.

Pacific Northwest Scout/Goalkeeper Consultant

Freddie Beaubien

Freiddie is in his first season (2024-25) as the Americans Pacific Northwest Scout and Goalkeeper Consultant. Freddie began his playing career in Lauzon, Quebec, Canada.  He was drafted in the first round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 1992.  During his successful tenure for the St-Hyacinthe Laser of the QMJHL, Freddie was drafted in the 5th round (105th overall) in the 1993 draft by the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL.  After a very successful career playing in various professional leagues for 11 years, including teams  all over North America and Europe, Freddie caught the coaching bug and has been coaching ever since. Freddie has worked with some of the top NHL Goalie Coaches (Francois Allaire, Vladislav Tretiak), and has worked with NHL goalies such as, Patrick Roy, Roberto Luongo and Jose Theodore. 

Freddie has also been a head coach for many youth hockey teams from all age groups including AAA and AA teams and is currently the Operations Manager and Goalkeeper Director for the CDA Hockey Academy.  Freddie works with USA Hockey evaluating goalies and players at the state and district level camps.

Alaska Scout

Kyler Mack

Kyler is in his second season (2024-25) as the Americans Alaska Scout. Kyler is a former Great Falls Americans player (2016-2018) who went on to play at the college level for the University of Providence Argos men’s hockey team (ACHA) in Great Falls, Montana. In 2022, Mack graduated from the University of Providence with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science- Athletic Training. He currently is an assistant coach and Strength and Conditioning coach for the U16 and U18 Alaska Oilers since 2022.
